The owners of this house bought the land
with a wooden holiday home already constructed in Yakor village next
to Tomsk city. They wanted to adapt it for the permanent residence
of a young family through the extension of supplementary space.
The main house was constructed from circular pine bars 200 mm thick.
The project provides an extension to the rear of the house of the
same material. This includes a billiard room and lounge in the
basement and a living room and kitchen with a dining area on the
ground floor.
It’s proposed to attach a glassed-in verandah on the east side of
the house with the existing verandah serving as the entry and the
hall.
A covered terrace will be added on the west side of the house and
providing a canopy over the garage entry as well.
On the first floor a small balcony, which will add interest to the
main facade, will also be added.
The project was designed in the eclectic style with a maximum
emphasis on the texture and beauty of the natural wood.
The colour scheme and decoration adds lightness to the upper part of
the house, but a massive base, finished with decorative stone,
creates the effect of a strong connection with the land.
This architectural design provides an analogy with the new family,
where each member is still young and growing, but together they
provide a solid foundation for their future common life. |
