This house was originally designed as
residence for two families.
The clients wanted to see their house in traditional Russian
style. In this case circular pine bars were selected as a material
of load-bearing walls.
The client’s main desire was also a common chimney hall, which would
connect two apartments.
The project of two-storey house with attic and basement floor has
a symmetrical plan.
Except the chimney hall, all common facilities, such as gym, lounge,
wine cellar and pantry are located on the basement floor.
Separate double garages were also designed for each family.
Each apartment has open-plan area on the first floor. The private
areas of bedrooms and bathrooms are located on the first floor and attic.
Both apartments have entrances from the backyard and through a
spacious terrace and a common chimney hall from the street.
The compositional axis of the house is high bay window of chimney
hall. Two symmetrical towers with light bedrooms create a feeling of
an Old Russian fairy tale. |
